How I can help

I do four things. Most organizations start with the first one. Every job begins with a short conversation and a scope we agree on in writing.

START HERE

AI readiness assessment

If your staff or volunteers already use AI tools, officially or not, and you want to know where you stand before you write a policy or buy anything else, start here. Most organizations are surprised by how much is already in use.

In about two to three weeks, I give your leadership:

  • an inventory of the AI tools in use, including ones built into software you already pay for;
  • a risk screen that maps each tool to the EU AI Act risk tiers and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework;
  • a gap analysis and risk register informed by ISO/IEC 42001, with attention to data privacy and vendor transparency; and
  • a 90-day plan with named owners and milestones.

Here is how it runs: a 60-minute intake with your leadership, questions or short interviews with your staff, my written report, and a 60-minute readout. I scope the details with you first. I don’t need any information about the people you serve, and I ask that you don’t share it.

The assessment informs your decisions. It is not a legal opinion, an audit, or a compliance certification.

Workshops

A hands-on session for your staff, educators, volunteers or board, so everyone has the same plain understanding of AI. We cover what the tools do well and badly, how to use them responsibly, and how to protect privacy, with examples from your own work. Sessions run from 90 minutes to a half day, at your site in the Baltimore area or online.

AI policy help

If people at your organization are using AI and nothing is in writing, I review how it’s used today and draft a short acceptable-use policy and risk checklist for your leadership to adapt and approve. Your own counsel should review any policy before you adopt it.

Ongoing advice

For leaders who want someone to call when a new tool, vendor or staff question comes up. We meet monthly on a schedule we agree on, and I scope it with you first.

How we’d work together

It starts with a short call so I understand your mission, your people and your questions. Then I write up what I’ll do, how long it will take and what it costs, and we agree on that before any work begins. I do the work, and afterward I check in so the guidance sticks and your questions get answered.

Questions

Who do you work with?

Schools, nonprofits, youth- and family-serving programs, and professional or academic groups.

Do I need technical knowledge?

No. I build sessions around your real questions.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the scope, the size of your group and the format. I agree on a written scope and fee with you before any work begins. Book a conversation and I’ll give you a quote.

Do you give legal advice?

No. I provide education and general guidance. For legal questions, talk to a qualified attorney.

Will you see our clients’ personal information?

No. I don’t need access to personal information about the people you serve, and I ask that you not share it with me.

Not sure where to start? Let’s talk.

General education, not legal advice. Jackson Allen LLC is not a law firm.
